About St. Paul and The Broken Bones:
Grit, elemental rhythm, tight-as-a-drumhead playing, and a profound depth of feeling: these are the promises of a great soul band. And St. Paul & The Broken Bones deliver on those promises.

Half The City is the compelling full-length Single Lock/Thirty Tigers debut of the Birmingham, Alabama-based sextet, who have already created a maelstrom of interest with their roof-raising live shows and self-released four-song 2012 EP. Produced by Ben Tanner of Alabama Shakes, and recorded and mixed in the storied R&B mecca of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the album harkens back to the region’s classic soul roots while extending the form with electrifying potency.

Lyrics:
Why did it get so dark?
It happened so fast, Lord, did I hear you?
I crumble down, have the foot of love, babe, I do
The my stool, my play, but my kingdom is falling

Why did the light fade up?
And coming so bad, Lord, did I hear you
These stones at the river, they were all just (???)
But my kingdom come, and my will be done
And I can't go back tonight, to the morning sun
I can't get tired of you
I can't, I can't, I can't
Youuuuu

I will never EVER tire of watching/hearing this. The band are so tight, and comfortable with each other, the singer is so entertaining and in the absolute moment, plus a fabulously raw voice. Thankyou. ❤

Didn't care for the intro much but the rest of the song is good. singer has a powerful voice but a bit unpolished.

Those horn's are to die for! Top shelf all the way around and such a colorful front man. If you don't like this your music bone is either broken or you simply never had one to begin with.

I love how the singer is dancing along. Usually, they’re just standing there and nodding their head 😂. This dude MOVES, and I’m here for it.
