it came down to politics? not it came down to representing the people, exactly what they are supposed to do. Contrary to popular lies 90% of the country did NOT support expanded background checks and THAT is exactly why the bill didnt pass, and polls show that support of expanding gun control is rapidly decreasing.

Technically speaking, Rand Paul is correct in saying that ONLY if Obama asked them if they would help vouch for him. If the Newtown parents came under their own free will (which they can because they have a somewhat celebrity status after the Newtown shooting), then I agree, his comment was completely uncalled for.

those that want to give up their guns can. The rest of us (the majority) will keep them and defend ourselves. No amount of laws would have stopped previous killings, but just one firearm, in the hand of one trained person would have. Gun free zones do not work. Legal gun owners are not the problem. Blame the person, not the method.

All you americans that are not willing to give up the pleasure of having a gun to presserve the lives of those you love and other, I hope you know you're making a mistake . these kids could have been yours ; if you don't have any it could have been your neighbour, your sister, your brother and so on . Banning guns in the US isn't the solution of course, but these restrictions were a way to prevent shootings lie this to happen.

I live in Illinois you must have a foid card in order to purchase a gun here there is no loophole here I challenge you to come here and buy a gun with no foid card .
