It7s been a while since you posted this and I'm pretty sure you got to know this bike really well by now - but for those interested in buying, here's my feedback:

I'm 6, 2 and went for the L version and it feels just perfect (mind you, Canyon suggests I'm right on the limit). I guess it's also about your personal preference. Tubeless? Absolutely! This was probably the easiest tire/rim combo I've ever tried setting tubeless. Seals from 0 psi, even no need for high pressure pumps. Tires are very easy to mount without levers. Seatpost is awesome - really really comfy feel. It does need regular cleaning and re-greasing (carbon assembly paste) and the screw location in the rear demands taking you rear wheel off in order to torque it to specs. AXS Rival eTap works like a charm - crisp, fast and battery lasts quite long. It's a small and light battery too and Canyon comes with two. Wheels are a bit on the heavy side and the bike doesn't feel very snappy when accelerating but they're robust and capable. DT Swiss ratchet is really silent. Braking is confident but I do have to say that the pad/disc combo can be quite noisy, especially after harder braking. Gonna try Swisstop pads to see if that improves. Lacquer finish is prone to scratching - been using my top tube bag for just a couple of hours and it shows already. I think buying a dedicated top tube bag that screws in makes a lot of sense.

Other than that, the bike is a bomb. Really capable, comfy and fast - even on the road. I'm absolutely loving it.

I just bought one myself xxl size, color is really refreshing. Can't wait to get it and try. Been riding mtb for about 8 years, got myself entry level road bike, now decided to try gravel.

I would def get tubless in this. Way easier to get punctures out on the trails and antying that helps with that is a win for me. Also it will allow you to run much lower pressures which are way more comfortable and offer better grip (no risk of pinch flats). i would also look into the redshift shockstop suspension stem. I got one recently for doing the king alfreds way and whilst it only gives 20mm of travel the difference it made over those long distances was pretty big!

Hi Dan
Just stumbled on your channel after searching for Grizl reviews, I’ve been dithering for 2 months over this and the grail. I live in the New Forest with a 50/50 split of great roads and great gravel. I’m 62 so I suppose comfort ought to be a factor. Found your video really helpful and virtually ready to part with the 5k after watching….or perhaps the Grail 😂😂

It looks like you can lower your stem a bit if needed. That's my main concern on the one I'm looking at since in the photo of the bike it shows the stem damn near resting on the frame and no room to make it higher if needed/wanted.

I was not expecting that!
Nice one 😍

one nifty little advantage of a gravel bike is winter rides with a road club. You can ride with a slower group at the same effort level at a lower speed and get less cold!

I'd recommend not going narrow bars on a gravel bike. Likewise, I ride 40cm on the road, but the slightly wider bars are better for off road control.

Beautiful paint scheme. I just got a explor derailuer and 10/44 for my climbing bike and went 1x on her so I’m excited to see how the gear range works I want to tackle the climb to Kaiser fondo in the near future

Tires. Mine came with Maxxis Ramblers, hated how they punctured so easily. Swapped out to Good Year Connectors, so far so good! Tires are just that much more important for gravel riding because traction is parmount, .

I bet it looks great with the blue bikes, nice contrast. Look forward to the first road/gravel test.

Changes? Maybe change the bottom dark pink area to a “TriDan Blue” fade to pink - in matt of course 😉

Looks great btw.

Brooo!! Epic choice! You'll love riding this bike 🔥Ps what is up with the chicken chilling behind the grizl?

My grizl is the same color. Beware of sunlight where you store it, will fade the paint. Tubeless, 50mm tires under 20psi tire pressure, and it rides smooth over rough trails. For mtb type trails, a dropper seat post helps.

Is that their grape color? the grx400 double chainring 10sp Grizl available in Canada will only be in 'grape' which does not suit me.

Your little Pekin Bantam seems quite impressed with your lovely new bike, perhaps she thinks its a new perch.

Hello!
You are 2cm taller than me, do you think the Large would fit a 186 tall/88 inseam? How did you find the fit?
Also, appreciate it if you could measure the inner top tube length? Just want to see if I need a new frame bag. Cheers!

Hey, what’s your inseam? I’m 6.2 feet with 2.95 (90cm) Inseam and between sizes L and XL.
Does the height of saddle looks weird?)))
Thanks much for answer

Hello. Please can I ask what is your height and inseam? I understood it is an L. I am 188 cm tall, 93 cm inseam. So long legs and I tested L and fpund it a bit small. I fear XL would too long for my reach...

The sizing is weird for Canyon, I'm 195cm with a 90cm inseam and went for a size large as well, same colour as yours. I love it, it's like a strawberry smoothie!
