Blake did admit he's not a fretboard man - hell of a keyboards tho. 
At 6.50 backing nice but maybe alternate up an down an octave on that lead, add a little breakup and less string stretching...?  
Or maybe even use a jazz tone to help with the blues feel and lose that country guitar totally. 
Just sayin....
