I started using Sony a few years back with the a7ii. When the a9 was released, I jumped right on it and set my Nikon d750 aside. I haven't touched it in months! After returning from Kando where I won the a7riii, I no longer need the safety blanket "backup, " so I've listed all my Nikon gear for sale and won't look back! You've hit the nail on the head for all the reasons why. Sign me up for the Sony Fan Girl club.

Kevin - im curious how you’d recommend the Olympus vs a Sony A7iii for someone who shoots landscapes 90% of the time. Considering the Oly has the high res setting. Is it a fair comparison to compare the E-M1 mark2?

I just hope that Sony and Fuji come out with some long fast lenses to match those 500, 600, and 800mm lenses that Nikon and Canon have for wildlife work.

I already sold my Nikon gear and have a Sony and Panasonic mirrorless, but it will be really interesting if Nikon releases something that's much more than anyone expected. It could be 2008 all over again (D3/D700 releases that changed everything). Or they could release something mediocre and everyone shrugs their shoulders and clicks the Place Order button for Sony. We'll see. I'm not very optomistic that Canon will knock anyone's socks off with an upcoming mirrorless release but again, who knows. "We'll see"

Kevin - I noticed your camera has a really large iCup. One thing that I've struggled with using my Fuji xe2 is that can't see anything through the viewfinder in bright sunlight. For me that's a big drawback of some mirrorless cameras. Never a problem with my DSLR.

I have heard camera support/repair is troublesome, unless it is someone like you, that has market influence, knows who to call, or is an artisan/pro user. That's what I have heard. I use a Nikon d800e and a sony a6000 (with sigma primes).

Sony have the innovation and specifications, but leg behind on ergonomics and that menu interface. If those aspects innovate too, then Sony will be (even more?) formidable.
