Never heard anyone teach on these passages though I've read them myself many times pondering the meaning and to think that it is intended to be for us to be in a place with him that is so splendid and satisfying that it wipes away all the tears from our eyes and our suffering is remembered no more! That is a great point about creation getting resurrected as well as us....kind of reminds me of Romans 8:18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

Another thought...

When you were talking about the 2nd Peter passage and the new creation being made...

1) consider that we are called "Sons of God" as believers...
2) and consider Job 38:4-7 that the sons of God (Angels) sang at the first creation...

Perhaps we too like the angels will be singing and glorifying Him as He re-creates new heavens, new earth, and new Jerusalem...perhaps being able to watch Him re-create will be one of our wedding gifts from Him.

Thanks dear brother for your latest teaching and the one we yearn so much for the return of our Lord and the regeneration. I'm personally studying Acts 17 which basically is the beginning to the end in such a amazing teaching by the apostle Paul to the Greeks a smack in the face to those unbelievers and mockers, he puts them straight in a very blunt but honest way. Verses 22-34 . Verse 31 speaks about the day of judgement and resurrection which made me think about our own faith in this hope as we have not seen Christ but truly believe in both the resurrection and the millennial kingdom. Do you believe this is the power of The Holy Spirit who Jesus said he would send after His ascension who lives in us as I personally have no doubts but even the early apostles did even after seeing Him in a resurrected body. Can you explain this?

If one was to survey the dimensions and measurements of the New Jerusalem, it’s clear that it’s being portrayed as a “sanctuary-city”.

This Eternal City is constructed as a perfect cube, mirroring the Holy of Holies of the Temple… which was ALSO a perfect cube. (Revelation 21:16; 1 Kings 6:20).

In Revelation 21, the Eternal City is called “Tabernacle of God”.

In the Eternal Age, the saints will congregate in the New Jerusalem and worship on the “Sea of Glass” before the Throne of Father and Son. (Revelation 15:2-4)

This Sea of Glass is used as a worship area before the Throne of God.

The Sea of Glass is portrayed as an extension of God’s Throne (Revelation 4:6; Ezekiel 1)

If death will eventually be destroyed, does that mean the lake of fire will be destroyed, and so no everlasting punishment?

The new Jerusalem doesn’t wait until the new heavens and earth to arrive. She descends with the heavenly host of the resurrected 10, 000s * 10, 000 to rule and reign on earth in New Jerusalem. The old one having been trampled, particularly for 42 months right before Christ’s return. We are awaiting the celestial city. It arrives at the beginning of the millenium, not the end, after the millennium.

Notice in Hebrews 13:14 it says, "For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come." Paul (or the writer of Hebrews) is talking about Jerusalem which existed at that time which was not a continuing city. It was not going to continue and Jerusalem the physical city represented the Mosaic law covenant and that arrangement of things. That covenant and age was going to come to an end in 70AD and did end. The city itself was also destroyed and temple destroyed. So its all about the covenants and we have the new covenant and Gods kingdom today (from that time forward.) (nkjv used)

Great session Gabe! Looking forward to the next one already 😊 I would love a breakdown of what exactly is the 1000 years of peace. I've never quite grasped the concept and whether this happens after his return or before, etc. Not sure if there's any direction or advice to figure it out?
