One quick correction… I didn’t know the most common definition of statistical difference while recording this and was not using that term correctly in this video. A Smaller gaps in the numbers reflect lower confidence levels. Larger gaps in stats generally represent higher confidence levels. For greater confidence, the LSD values of .05 used on NTEP (95% confidence of statistical difference) have been added to the website for this product where available.

Around 27,000 excel fields based on NTEP.org test results at around 12 NTEP test locations + over 100 hours of work went into crowning the best cultivars and rye grass seed blends in the world.

A few corrections: I didn’t know that I wasn’t correctly using the term statistically significant here. What I meant was simply ‘a larger gap in separation’. These are just the raw numbers and small differences should be assigned little to no confidence while larger differences can be assigned more confidence, but not necessarily high confidence. Let’s use an LSD of .99 here just to be safe 😂. I’ve gotten familiar with the basic terminology surrounding P values, and LSD after making this video and I’ll be adoption a more formal meaning of the word in future videos with an LSD of .05 in the future, but, consider the LSD .99 for this video just to be safe.

And let me say plainly… Ryan Knorr has excellent grass seed and Pangea was a stand out on the former NTEP trial. 5-Iron is a great value. SS9000 is worth considering as well in most areas… these are all great products and I think you’ll be happy with any of them if rye is appropriate for your area. How does the Xcelerator cultivar rank compared to your data? I’m in IL (near Urbana) and from what I’ve seen (no where near as much research has you) it has been in the top 5 cultivars if not the best cultivar for my area.
