The forces of evil are threatening to overrun HOGWARTS™ castle in this cooperative game! It’s up to four students to ensure the safety of the school by defeating villains and consolidating their defenses. Players take on the role of a HOGWARTS student: Harry, Ron, Hermione or Neville, each with his or her own personal deck of cards.

Play as your favorite characters and defend the wizarding world from evil forces. Enhance your abilities as you build your deck with over 140 cards. Seven successive game adventures offer increasing difficulty as you battle Villains and unlock new abilities, secrets and challenges. Also included are four Hogwarts house dice, game board, over 50 chip pieces, and sorting cards to keep everything organized.

I have a few problems with this video that could maybe be corrected in future videos:

1. You start off by showing the exception to a rule instead of the rule itself. For example, you show a player buying a card with the Time Turner and then putting the card on top of the deck, when that is the exception. Normally cards would go into your discard pile. This isn't very clearly stated (as another commenter was confused).

2. You don't show enough of the game to really understand the rules. Specifically, we don't see:

*At the end of your second turn, shuffling your cards. This is why cards go in your discard instead of your deck
*Shuffling the Dark Events cards
*What each of the Dark Events do (as there aren't many of them, and one of them has a lasting effect)
*Defeating a villain
*Villain gaining control of a location
*Player being knocked out
*How tokens work between turns (since they've all been used)
*Cards that help other players (i.e. All Players draw a card, or one that gives you 2 influence or gives all other players 1 influence)

Some of these are alluded to, but not seen.

You don't have to show the whole game leading up to each of these in the video, but you could skip to certain setups. For example "let's say we had 6 attack tokens on Draco..." or "let's say we had 4 control tokens on Diagon Ally."

Great, clear explanation. Wish I had watched this before struggling through our first game with only the written directions.

I'm glad you have 2 players instead of 1 it makes it easier for me to figure out if we played the game right then just 1 person explaining it all

According to the directions new cards purchased with influence go in the discard pile not your draw pile.

They remind me of the AV club kids who did the school news each morning.

Great job, folks. We bought the game for our girls at Christmas. None of us had ever played any RPG or deck building games before, and found the Instructions in the game to be VERY confusing.

One and a half viewings of your vid, and we were playing away. It makes so much sense now. Well done, and thank you.

great game too.

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
"No I didn't"
Bravely ran away away!
"I did not!"
When danger reared it's ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled
"No"
Brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat
"I never"
Bravest of the BRAVE!
Sir Robin.

I don't know what was more painful, filming this, or watching it. I'm gonna go ahead and give this one the "The only time Dice Tower's video is sexier" award. 😂

Can you please do a video explaining how to set up Box 1 of the Monster Box expansion? I'm quite positive I'm playing it wrong since the instructions are more open for interpretation.

There is one thing that is not clear to me. I have to face the wicked from left to right but I can give lightning bolts to all the wicked. When I defeat the evil on the left, does the new evil that comes into play take its place and thus stand on the left? In this case, when the wicked on the right come into play and especially at each turn, are the powers of the two or three discovered wicked active or only the power of the left-hand wicked? Thanks

What happens when you play a card that says "draw a card". What pile do you draw from?

Question here guys, when i have only one card in my draw section, in the end of my turn i Will only have that card? Or can i shuffle my discard section and put It in the draw section so i can draw 5 of them

I have one gripe. The rules say you start each year with your starter cards only. In no other deck building games do you do this. Anyone else notice that? That's like saying you learned this spell but you have to relearn it every year. Deck building not deck rebuilding 😂

Would be better if you could play as villains too.
