New GDP numbers show 2.8% growth in 3rd quarter

The new GDP report released Wednesday shows the U.S. economy grew at a 2.8% annual pace in the third quarter. Jared Bernstein, chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, joined CBS News to discuss the report.

We had two major hurricanes, record heat, record rain, several chain stores closed and we still had an excellent GDP for the quarter. Question is why nobody adjusted(revised) the forecast after the major storms, floods and major events of the quarter? Is this number really that much of a surprise? Really it's amazing considering the millions of Americans that suffered major losses and damages.

We can expect the next quarter to be in question on GDP. However the rebuilding in several states will result in a lot of jobs and sales of materials and equipment.

Forecasts and predictions in the market have been poorly done for some time now in many areas of the economy.

Stock market companies and market analysts put pressure on the FED and reported all type of doom and gloom and yet the market continues to break records and we are the envy of the world.
