Magic is the reason I fell in love with basketball in 1979. He was a 6'9 thoroughbred with the bionic vision of Lee Majors. When he was the middle man of a 3 on 1 fastbreak he was a Siberian tiger. There will never be another one like him. The greatest point-guard my 20/20 vision has ever witnessed. If there was a player in today's Mary Kay DNA NBA doing bringin' half of Magic's ruckus I would renew my NBA League Pass ASAP.

Watched both these dudes play as a hard core Laker fan back in the day. Magic was the better passer then bird, though bird was nice. But Bird was Much harder to guard, bird was better than magic offensively. Magic was a point guard his job was to run the offense and get dimes and he was the best to ever do that. Bird was an unstoppable force offensively. Both evoked great fear in the opposing fandom when they touched the ball. Magic more bc he would either score or make the perfect pass to a wide open shot and you couldn't stop him. Bird bc he was going to score and you could not stop him no matter what you did. But lets talk about this, this dude, a 6'8 point guard(not seen before or since) had passes and court vision better then any point guard ever. Most of those passes you saw in those highlights have not been seen in the nba since. They are 10/10 difficulty passes and no one has had to ability to pull them off since magic imo.

Magic is best PG and best playmaker of all time. 11.2ast/gm for career is head and shoulders above anyone else. Including Stockton (who just ran same pick n roll play 70 - 80 times a game). 5 rings and 3MVPs too.

Greatest guard that ever played the game. Arguably the greatest player ever. Came out of college as a sophomore beating Bird's team in championship and lead lakers to championship the next year at 20 years old, won 5 championships in 11 years. Would most likely have gotten at least one more if not for AIDS.

for me it goes like this
Jordan AND BIRD at the top two spots.. Magic THIRD WITH Kareem.. then like 5-6 other players (Lebron, Kobe, Wilt, Shaq Duncan, Olajuwon..)
but my STARTING 5 of all time would be
Curry, JOrdan, Bird, Kevin Garnett and Shaq.. cuz they all moved WITHOUT the ball and ONLY Jordan was ball dominant in this lineup.. move the ball, move yourself is the BEST way to play basketball.
