That was a dirty play. NCAA would have disqualified that player for that hit. The NFL will reward that hit with a fine and should be a hefty one. Clearly, Smith's forward progress was stopped and going backwards before that hit. So much for protecting the players. The referees need to be fined for not penalizing that play.
