This is where Season 2 absolutely nailed it:
1. There was no rest for the weary. Every second the characters seemed to catch a breather or a break, something or someone would come back at them keeping a really good amount of tension throughout the season
2. Respect for culture, disability, and mental health. A lot of shows pay lip service to these themes, but this show has really portrayed or gone into these themes from a place of knowledge instead of "some writers" idea of what these things are for commercial sake. The real life voice actors "are" these characters, meaning it's not a white guy playing the black guy, and there is a voice actress with a limb difference, playing Brooklyn. These things do make a difference to fans who absolutely love the show, as I do.
3. This show doesn't baby the audience. It doesn't skimp on action or water things down, including the danger or emotional beats. These characters are going through it as many people are in real life.
4. New dinos and characters add to all the action scenes, and are not part of any regurgitated plot lines. The ending, just really made me excited again, to see more in the future as this is a fantastic show.

Season 2 of chaos theory didnt feel as good as season 1

I now realize that the plot used in the second season of chaos theory could have been that of dominion (obviously with the characters and dinosaurs changed, for example maise instead of brooklyn, and the giganotosaurus instead of the majungasaurus
