Trent Weston is the guy's name. Brittany was his wife, & Benson was the son. They had a nice house. It seems like they had a wealthy & comfortable life. The car was turned around, so if the cops shot thru the car, trying to get to the father, it could very well be that the cops murdered the 8 year old boy. What's the evidence that they didn't shoot the kid? There's dash & lapel cameras, so let us see how the shooting went down. They didn't say that the man had pulled the gun & was shooting at them, only that he had brandished it. Either the 8 year old boy was shot by the father or by the cops. Those are the only 2 options. Its either heads or tails.

If the kid died during the incident then the man who drew the gun first is at fault for putting the child in that situation. Maybe the police did not know the child was in the vehicle. Sad for the kid either way it is put.

The fact they've closed off the bridge in both directions seems to suggest that the cop killed the child in the shoot-out with the man.
