You have just changed my life. :) I always wanted to learn to tap dance but never did. I am turning 69 and have pain issues and walk with a cane, but my pain doctor said go for it, with care. I bought some tap shoes and discovered your channel. I can't do everything because my body doesn't allow, but this is great exercise and fun! I just watched out of curiosity. I was a tap dancer for twenty (plus) years. This took me back to when I was a very little girl, learning the beginnings. The first song I did in front of an audience was Deep In The Heart of Texas. 😄
By the time I was 14, I was tapping across stages on mini-tours, twirling a baton while tapping.
When I was 19, I was becoming quite the novice choreographer, and my teacher loved the routine I developed for the Beatles song Glass Onion. 😄 It was time. Time to start on Broadway. Get my experience. Start my choreography career. Start with those chorus lines. Lol
Imagine my disappoinment upon finding out I was one inch too short to bé a Rockette. 😫 Their height requirements are 5'6" - 5'10.5". But...I'm sure you know that.
Stupid me only growing to 5'5". 😕
Unfortunately....that's when we also found out about my back problems. It was either keep dancing and end up in a wheelchair by my thirties...or give it up and put off the problems longer.
regret giving it up.
But I did make it to fifty before my spine needed surgery. So....there's that.
miss it. Always had some regret.
Sometimes I'm tempted to rent out a studio, just to see how much it would hurt....just to try. Just.... because....I'm a dancer. It's in my soul.
But now I'm old and ramble too much. Sorry about that.
But if you actually read all that...then may you have one hundred days of nothing but smiles. 😊
