"Will my baby get used to being carried to sleep?" is a question that bother many parents directly or indirectly. Well meaning family and friends keep telling New Parents, "Do not to carry your baby, baby will get used to it"

In the first few days or weeks (or even months), your baby spends a lot of time sleeping everywhere except alone in their crib. And conked out in their mama’s arms or on their dad’s chest is often the way Newborn's sleep.

☘️Do what feels right for you. As long as your baby is safe, do what works for you and your family.

Here are some reasons why it is completely Ok if your baby needs to be held or sleeps in your arms:

☘️It is biological - You have carried your baby for nine months in your womb. Suddenly your baby is earth side and needs time to get used to this new environment. Your baby needs to be held and comforted.

☘️You wont spoil your baby - Your baby needs you now. They will be able to eventually get used to the surroundings, learn the routines and settle down when they are ready. Dont worry that it will become a habit.

☘️Sleep is sleep - Sometimes babys dont sleep in their cot and may always end up sleeping in your arms. It is fine as this wont be forever.

☘️They will grow up - Your baby is not going to be so little again. Cuddle and hug them as you will remember them fondly later and miss them.

If it is working for you and your family than it is best way for you.

☘️If it is not working than figure another way of helping your baby sleep. Do not feel guilty or be upset with yourself.

👉Try rocking them, then patting them, use white noise, black out curtains to help them sleep.
👉 Work with routines. Babies love rhythm and routines.
