It's terrible how the Amish treat their animals! I rescued a draft from them & his nose was crushed in & could barely walk. Got him healthy & will always cherish the 5 years I had him until he passed away peacefully, RIP Hercules❤

My sisters dog was not only abused by his previous owner but tortured! She burst into tears when she was told this by the vet - but I said you cannot do anything about what happened to him previously. You can only give him the greatest care, kindness and love now., at that she was the ideal person to do that. He has fallen into the hands of the ultimate good carer now - you have my deepest respect.

My horse is from the Amish! He pulled carts and when we got him he had spots on his face that was hairless bc his halter/driving mask was way too tight! He also had whip marks and was skinny. Now he is 27 years old and perfectly healthy and still gets ridden his name is Henry😢❤

I purchased a draft mare to prevent her from going to auction in October (where she would have likely gone for kill). my original plan was to put some training on her and find her a great home. But once I started training and realized how traumatized she was (also by that community), I decided she was already in her forever home. I couldn't send her away after the progress she had made, she wouldn't have understood. I didn't have her for very long, I lost her to colic a few years later. But I am comforted that she pent her last years in a place that understood her and she was happy in my little herd.

It's not just horses. They run puppy mills. It's amazing how the authorities turn a blind eye towards them.

If animals could talk, the world would cry.

I grew up in a big Amish area. NEVER would we let them buy one of our animals. They take anger out on them.

Percherons are the only horses I feel comfortable riding. They're so much smoother than an Arabian or quarter horse. And due to their girth I feel more stable in the saddle. And they're such sweethearts!!

When you said he reacted strongly to anything whip-like, my heart broke. When I first adopted my dog, the first time I picked up a broom, he started shaking and crying. Ten years later, he's still healing, but I've got his back, no matter what. ❤

To treat any animal anything but kindly is pure evil. Horses are so majestic and beautiful. They deserve our unconditional love 😢❤

I've had horses in the past, and I believe most people do not understand that horses have personalities, just like dogs or cats and many other animals. I think the world needs to understand that. I love you guys for caring and loving horses.

It was a few years ago when I learned how cruel the Amish community is to their animals. Since then I have boycotted buying anything or supporting that community. God bless you for rescuing this sweet angel and giving him the loving home he deserves!

Draft horses are such sweet gentle animals, they aren’t machines and shouldn’t be treated as such, ever ❤

I bought my quarter horse. He was underweight, his hooves were in tough shape, and his teeth were fucked. I ended up having two of them pulled, his hooves maintained(the split is gone now) and have put a couple hundred pounds on him. Not as big as I’d like him to be, but his attitude and demeanor alone have made a world of differences in his comfort ability, after having worked not only his muscles(on the trail) but also his mind(on the trail). Working a horse’s mind is just as important as working it’s muscles.

Thank you for rescuing him, and showing him that he is valued.

Most people take better care of their tools than that community takes care of their intelligent, living, breathing, feeling horse!!! It sickens me a me and makes me angry!! Thank you for rescuing these beautiful, majestic horses!!

The Amish are so self-righteous about not being in the "modern" world. They're right! As far as animal care, they're in the dark ages!! It angers me so much. Thank you for caring for such a beautiful animal♥

Thank you for taking care of this beautiful gentleman. It’s wrong how people treat animals at times. I am happy to know that he is going to spend the rest of his life with you.
