There is a hiking trail from vancouver all the way up to juneau so you can also walk there. I am currently planning to walk across canada from coast to coast to coast, taking 3 years. Your voyages have inspired me to go where cars cannot go, following trails all the way. My early retirement treat for all my hard work.

The stamped State Capital booklet is a keepsake of cherished memories, so lovely. Congrats!
Thank you so much for taking us along. Juneau does look gorgeous. It would be picture-perfect to look out your office windows and see in front of you a huge mountain, with gorgeous evergreen trees, mist in the valleys and an Eagle or two. Beautiful.
Bless you Joe and Nicole.

I’m glad you enjoyed Juneau. I’m a Colorado country girl, but I’ve lived in Juneau for 43 years. We’re very happy here. I hope you saw eagles. There weren’t any in your video, but we really do have lots. I’m a state government worker and my office is downtown. It’s a great place to be on sunny days by the water. Thanks for the video.

A few years back I look a Norwegian Cruise ship from Seattle up the Pacific to various stops in Alaska. It is one of the few cruise ships I would consider boarding. The trip was awesome. Last cruise for the season and the weather kept us from docking in Juneau. The farthest north we went was Ketchikan and loved it. They also have totem poles there.
I got a Ketchikan t-shirt with a huge grizzly bear on the back. Caption above the bear said, "Does not play well with others" 😅

I moved to Juneau in 1976, loved every minute I lived there. It is so different now. To touristie, to many cruise ships. We always wanted bad weather when the ships came in so the tourist wouldn't like Juneau. I lived out in the valley by the airport. Thanks for the current tour.

Ketchikan, south of Juneau, is my favorite Alaskan city. Yes, it's cool there but not frightfully cold, not even in the winter( lots of 30s and 40s highs and lows). Kudos to Nic for braving the coolness. I know she's a warm weather person. It is beautiful there, isn't it? Stay safe, you two.

Nicole, congratulations for getting all 50 state capital stamps! You are part of a small elite group now! Not what I was expecting at all, but very appealing. It's always fun to see a house with its yard full of 'stuff'. LOL Even in unlikely places where 'stuff' is hard to come by .That blue house with the pink door is painted like mine! I love bright colors. Thanks for taking us along.

Worked in Juneau for a year. Alaska Airlines 737’s have special equipment and pilot’s training for instrument approaches in low clouds/visibility because the mountains are so close to the approach from the south. stayed in the Mendenhall Valley (near airport). My favorite restaurant was The Hangar on the Wharf. Too bad you didn’t discover that while you were there-you would have loved it!

The view of dense forest over the narrow streets of Juneau is spectacular! I think living in such tough and severe state as Alaska is obviously challenge and endurance itself, to say nothing about daily work activities which would demand times more energy and commitment when its freezing cold, windy and humidity puts your body and mood under stress which not many people could withstand!

Juneau is lovely. About 10K of the 32K population lives in the "mountainside/Old Town" area; most of the rest live in Mendenhall Valley north towards the airport. It's flatter and more "suburban", where most of the regular/locals retail is located. One of my top favorite towns as well.

That old dock you were filming at the beginning, my dad used to drive a cargo van backwards down it so he could get supplies off the boat. Nerve wracking to say the least.

Tracys King Crab has a place about a 10 minute walk up the shore from where you are downtown that has no lines and sits right on the water so you watch eagles, etc. Food fantastic!!! Was there about 14 months ago working.

Such a beautiful state!! My Dad went to Hawaii when he went to Alaska, he told me he loved that state and people so much more than in Hawaii. I am wondering which was your favorite. Congrats on getting ALL 50 states. That is awesome. I really enjoy learning so much from your trips. Thank you.
