Embracing Fierce Compassion: Face Your Fear and Pain #gabormate #trauma #compassion #mentalhealth

Fierce Compassion, as elucidated by renowned physician and author Dr. Gabor Maté, embodies a profound approach to understanding and addressing human suffering with a blend of empathy, wisdom, and courageous action. Rooted in the belief that compassion extends beyond mere kindness, it calls for a deep, non-judgmental engagement with others' pain and challenges. Dr. Maté's teachings emphasize the importance of recognizing the interconnectedness of all beings, highlighting that our actions and choices impact not just ourselves but the world around us.

Through his insightful exploration of trauma, addiction, and the human condition, Dr. Maté reveals how embracing fierce compassion can catalyze personal healing and societal transformation. His teachings invite individuals to cultivate a compassionate presence within themselves, fostering resilience and empathy even in the face of adversity. Dr. Maté's philosophy resonates deeply in today's world, offering a profound path toward healing, understanding, and authentic connection.
Why ‘inside serene’? The idea of ‘inside’ is to navigate and dig deeper into what can human change to accumulate serendipity of thoughts that will help us mentally sync to a healthier, better and more in control of our thoughts.

Being mentally fit means having the skills to handle stress, think clearly and make good decisions, communicate effectively, and regulate one's emotions in appropriate ways.

Let us join together on how to become responsible and highly engaged in building a community of good people. There are many ways to improve and maintain mental fitness, such as getting regular exercise, practising mindfulness, and seeking support from others. Inside Serene's goal is to build a community of mental support regardless of your colour or religion. We are ONE!

Practising self-care and self-love enables us to give back and love others. I need your support to clean our social environment of toxic people and become a more responsible content creator.

The power of words to control our emotions can be therapeutic to our mental health;
✅ “I'm here for you.”
✅ “You are not alone.”
✅ “You are worthy and deserving.”
✅ “You don't have to apologize.”
✅ “There is treatment available to you…”
✅ “You are strong!.”

" We must be willing to encounter darkness and despair when they come up and face them, over and over again if need be, without running away or numbing ourselves in the thousands of ways we conjure up to avoid the unavoidable". - By Jon Kabat-Zinn

✅ Be empowered ✅ Be intentional ✅ Be in control

That's all very well, but as Gabor Mate himself says, if your carrying a lot of childhood trauma you need the help of a practitioner/therapist - you can't do it on your own. It doesn't matter if its Gabor Mate's Compassionate Inquiry, Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing, Richard Schwartz's Internal Family Systems, or any other similar trauma-informed therapy, the more trauma you carry, the more sessions you are going to need, and the more expensive it will be, and unfortunately most people who are suffering from depression, addictions etc don't have that sort of money, so are these therapies really a viable solution?

Any therapists out there who make no eye contact and take copious notes? ... this is the 21st century. Freud died ... 85 years ago.

I suggest dr. Bessel van der kolk's book The Body keeps the score, in which he has many selfhelp tips to try heal trauma.

Thank you so much for this interview! If I can make a peaceful, loving suggestion... I would ask that you turn down the background music, please.... I found it to be drowning out dr Gabor's soft voice and very distracting. It's beautiful music 🎵, but if it was softer, it wouldn't distract from Dr Gabor or your voices and intent. 🙏

I do think he should reference Carl Rogers and his person centerd theory. Empathy congruence unconditional positive regard to build the therapeutic relationship. Mirroring being one of the main techniques in his listening skills.
