Happy Birthday Venus! My b.collie that you see in my icon (that was taken when she was 10 wks old) will have her birthday on Aug. 1 too. I plan on giving her boiled chicken fillets mixed in her dog food. She loves it. And I'll get her a big chewy bone and a new toy.

I love the idea of treating dogs more like humans. They deserve the best treatment we can offer. I DO NOT subscribe to a training philosophy of detachment from our dogs. There are plenty of mainstream trainers who preach that. Our dogs are with us a short time, and I want to make as much of that time memorable and enjoyable for them as I can.

Awesome, my dog's birthday is July 4, she didn't get quite the celebration, but she got to spend all day with either her friends or me, much of that outside hiking or doing trail work!

That is so cute! we celebrated our Toby (German shepherd) 1st bday in our forest with our other dog maddie (blue heeler, Border collie, kelpie cross) To our 2 dogs the words moto bike is the same as Frisbee & park to your dogs. it means they can go out running off leash and spend the day running behind dad on his bike. Toby had a cake made out of his fav dog mince which he & maddie shared. so glad that Venus had a fantastic bday and it's a credit to you on how well she looks at the age of nine

OMG they went to Mellow Mushroom.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE that place!!! We live in Virginia and we had to go to Alabama to get my aussie and then we stayed in Atlanta and we got dinner from there. It was AMAZING!!!

I just loved your answer so I had to answer too.
At my dogs Birthday, we organized a track with food filled bags ( I'm not native in english so I don't know how to call them)
and later we made a long walk with friends dog. In the evening she became a dog "birthday cake" wich means it was a meat cake.
And of corse smaller size ;)
It's just important that it becomes a day we always can remeber, and we had fun together as a team. Don't you think?

I first saw you on who let the dogs out i was just amazed by how well you can handle dogs and how quickly they start to listen and love you, I now watch you on youtube too much i think hahahaha. Its unbelivable the things you can do with dogs. Without dogs you wouldnt be you. My favourite dogs are Border Collies, Beagles and King Charles Spaniels. I wish I could get a dog some day and I will train it so well it will think im you Zak. Keep making great videos and Good Luck!!

Venus has many more birthdays to come. Connor and Mallory both lived to be 17 and Connor's granddaughter, Mallory's daughter, will be 14 September 16th. All Border Collies of course! Have a wonderful year Venus!
