Unknown to pretty much everyone in Demon Slayer, Tanjiro’s earrings are only worn by members of the breath of sun clan. Way back in the day, the Demon King Muzan met a man wearing these earrings who was extremely powerful. This caused Muzan to have a hatred of Tanjiro from the very start of the series and explains why he sent demons after Tanjiro.
