Can vouch for 686. Got a pair a couple years back and still going strong. Great pocket placement, stretch, gusset, articulation, DWR, construction, etc. Solidly mid tier. Very wearable in a variety of fits.

Carhartt composes 70% of the essentials in my wardrobe. Picked up a jogger cargo a few weeks back - most comfortable pair of trousers I've purchased in a long time. Can only recommend.
NB: they size REALLY big! I usually wear a medium or large in their t-shirts/ crew necks / hoodies and had to go buy a XS, and it's still roomy. So if you purchase online, be warned to size down

Btw. if you manage to face the microphone top-down, roughly towards your throat and chest area, you will pick up way less echo from the room and also have fewer noises we don't wanna pick up from the mouth. It works even better if you stand on a carpet. Since you have a shotgun mic there - which is directional - you just pick up all the echo that bounces off of the ceiling and walls. As I mentioned, having a carpet and other soft surfaces (couch, pillows, blankets, opening the closet, even putting a mattress against a blank wall, drying rack full of clothes) in the room will help get rid of most of the echo. There are tripods specifically for shotgun mics. And always remember: Keep your friends close and your microphones closer. Adjust the hight of the tripod so that the mic is juuuust out of frame and you'll get super clear and warm audio. Cheers!

I've been wearing the DU/ER Adventure pants the past couple months and they are fantastic. Durable, super stretchy and the must have, water resistant. Also the cuffs are adjustable so you can wear them like joggers or hike them up your calf.

The greyman tactical pants from Helikon-Tex are another good option if you're looking for some low-key Veilance-esque techwear pants. They are very comfortable, way less shapeless than a lot of military pants and only cost $40-$50.

One really underrated pair of pants I came across was a company called "Gerry". Their venture pants are awesome material and when you get them tapered they work really well in the techwear wardrobe

real talk.... 5.11 is a lifesaver if you need something affordable & don't want Taobao cyber tech boi getting stuck on horizontal door handle cargos, or anything really. *e* If you can sew they're even better.

I love 5.11 .. it's not the most tech side look but since I can't overly get into too much strapping I think they have a lot of comfy good looks to add in.
