I'm 56 and a metalhead since '81 when I first heard The Mob Rules on the Heavy Metal soundtrack I bought because it had Devo on it. I first heard of Accept when Balls To The Wall played on Q102 in Dallas. I was blown away and bought the cassette the next day. Not long after I saw Restless in the record store, never heard it but I bought it and it blew me away as well. I've always had a copy of it and will listen to it when I'm 90. Udo is a metal god. Even all his U.D.O. albums are bad ass. I put him right there with Ozzy, Dio, Biff Byford and the rest of the gods.

Once again, thanks for a great video. YES my big introduction to Accept was ”Restless and wild” and that song Fast as a shark. I was 12-13 and (at that time me and my mates at school thought) no way that any band could play faster or more aggressive than Motörhead. I was wrong and totally adored this. The birth of speed/thrash metal I would say. Also remember a friend from my school called Saxis bringing a cassette of ”Breaker” and we listened to the song Son Of A Bitch (which was later censored and changed to Wanna Be Rich, crazy) at the breaks between classes. 😅 Yeah, the European cover of ”Restless and wild” with the burning Flying V:s is way much cooler. 🎸🎸🔥🔥

I remember, I was about 13 or 14, my friend Billy Welch put this record on and telling me “this is going to melt your brain”. I was fan from that point forward. I love Udo. And Wolff Hoffman. Excellent high level neo-classical metal awesomeness. Come for the gimmick record scratching opener, stay for the incredible musicianship and unique vocal delivery.

Hi there. I live in Brazil and Accept was huge here. But I got the first contact with the band in 1992. Ibought this record and fell in love at first listening. Despite the heavyness we got here a lot of melodic sense and very well krafted guitar solos, and lead breakes like Shake Youre Heads, Fast as a Shark and Princess Of The Dawn. For me Restless and Wild is kind a cousin of previous record Breaker, but much more fast as agressive. By the way, I love your channel...Fantastic.

I saw Accept open for Dio in 1985, they were promoting Russian roulette album, And they really rocked, I heard of Uno Dirk Snyder on metal shop They syndicated radio show on Sunday nights in the '80s I'll never forget his name

Totally blown away by this song in 1984. This was before I heard Metallica and Anthrax and Slayer (the first thrash bands I’d heard). NOTHING was heavier till that point. Still a great song, still a fantastic band.

Another Good 'un mate, I first heard Accept in '85 on a great compilation album released in Australia called Metal Madness, 'Balls to the Wall ' was the song, i couldnt believe the crispness and fatness of the production, the bight of the guitars, Stefan's drumming and sound, Udo's dynamic and killer vocals and the awesome gang back up vocals, just huge! i a bit later that i was introduced to 'Restless and Wild', not as refined obviously , but mate, i was sold, not a dull or filler song to be found on it, and man the energy and skill from the whole band is just explosive, and the use of the octaver at times on the those beautiful solos, was just perfect. they really were 'ahead of the pack' when it came to so much of what they were doing doing at the time. I was lucky enough to see Udo's band live a few years ago in Sydney with original bassist Peter Baltes, oh that Fender Prescission sound of his, utterly integral to the 'Accept sound' and man did they deliver, the pulled out the gems and the crowd lost their shit. Flash rockin' Men ?..Hell yeah they were, in fact Iron Maiden were also so impressed they basically nicked that opening riff for 2 minutes to Midnight! haha. This album is a blueprint of everything awesome about classicaly infused/influenced howlingly, nerve frying, well crafted, heavy rockin wizardry...oh, and if you wanna go on an amazing, nearly hyptontic 10 minute trip with perhaps the best live sound you'll ever hear, check out Accept doing Princess of the Dawn live in Osaka '85..regarded as one of the finest moments in Hard Rock/Metal. Stefans drums...my God....cheers mate.

Man that album was awesome! First time I heard that song and that album was 1983 at very loud volumes!! That was also the first day I heard Mercyful Fate's Melissa, Venom's Black Metal and Exciter's Heavy Metal Maniac and Raven's All for One.The next day I heard Metallica's demo No life til' leather. Those were awesome days. So much metal was happening all at the same time.
Accept I usually grouped with Metal Church.
Thanks for the video.

I get the feeling when Udo showed up to the audition they didn’t think it was going to work out

Saw them open for Kiss. It was either the creatures of the night or the lick it up tour.

When Fast as a shark came out drummers all of a sudden had to play a double bass or they were getting passed up
