In Transformers Age of Extinction, Optimus Prime and Lockdown engage in a fierce fight during the final battle in Hong Kong. But some say that Optimus Prime was holding back because Cade Yeager (a human) was present. However, Optimus Prime actually DIDN'T EVEN KNOW Cade Yeager was present! Another reason is if Optimus was looking out for Cade, he would have warned Cade that Harold Attinger was coming over. And he obviously didn’t do that.

And again, if Optimus did notice Cade and was nervous about Cade, he would have told Cade to get away sooner. Optimus wanted to fight Lockdown all alone.

And Cade had *no reason* to be there if Optimus knew he could beat Lockdown. So either -

1. Optimus knew he wasn’t strong enough to fight Lockdown alone

Or -

2. Optimus didn’t know Cade was present

Or -

3. Optimus didn't care that Cade was present

You can conclude what you wish, I think Optimus Prime didn’t know Cade yeager was present.

Even if he knew Cade was there he’d have no reason to hold back as him and Lockdown were so far away from Cade that the chances of him getting caught in the crossfire are slim to none.

I actually never noticed that. That's a good catch. A similar argument can be made for 07 and rotf because in both cases, he tells Sam to get behind him and hide. So, to his knowledge, Sam was nowhere in the area and would fight freely. This would explain why he almost stepped on Sam numerous times in the forest battle.

After seeing lockdown sling bumblebee with a single arm, i was honestly just thinking he was enhanced somehow. In addition to planning and his troops, it'd make sense that thats how he captured the knights

Officially, it’s the other way around. The VFX supervisor for Age of Extinction confirms Lockdown was pulling his punches against Optimus, because he was hired to capture (not kill) Prime

Actually, brodie your theory may be wrong how I know is becuase in one of the scenes of the movie when optimus freed the dinobots lockdown said "prime's taken my trophy case, and he will feel my wrath' and during the final battle when lockdown fought bee he said "it's my fight that you all are going to die" indicating he was indeed going for the kill and if u listen closely optimus badly injured lockdown when cade was held at gunpoint. Another scene is where he actually stabbed optimus in the chest w his own sword

And number 2 is about Optimus and scourge first fight. Prime said there "impossible". I think people are missunderstanding this line. Prime said it not because, he was blocked by scourge, but cuz in this moment he realized who scourge is. The dark legenda came the truth. Even after that when Airazor was explaining who the terrorcons are Optimus seemed like he knew it already. This was for him just a proof. Probably nobody else than a an other Prime or herald of unicron, can stand a power of Prime. Tfone kinda explains with cogs, that is why Megatron could defeat Optimus on cybertron. Well we couldn't see it yet, but come on that comes together to well.
