Very very rarely do I get a weapon other than a coin or bandana peel. Maybe every 5 races I'll get something different. Never a star or blue shell. Do you know why that is? Am I doing something wrong?

Thank god you can disable Bloopers and Coins, and thank god none of the items introduced in Wii are present.
