Install Android 11 on Google Pixel 1 (XL) - LineageOS 18 (Unofficial) | Flash Guide

Feeling left out of the Android 11 party on your Pixel 1? Don't worry, you're invited to the after party! Thanks to the hardworking developers out there, we have a taste of Android 11 (which seems to be quite good so far!) on our discontinued Pixel 1.

This is an unofficial build of LineageOS, so you should be reporting bugs to the XDA thread. Keep an eye on the thread to see if there are more bugs discovered, and newer builds which may have fixed those.

Note that I won't be installing TWRP by flashing the TWRP installer after the ROM. You can try it out, but I could never get it to boot into TWRP after rebooting from the temporarily booted image (even after flashing the installer).

Remember to backup and ask questions!

I've been using Windows since version 3.1 (yes, I'm old, thanks), and I didn't know about *that* cute trick of typing 'cmd' into the address bar in an Explorer window.

Wow. It works on Windows 7 (yes, I know, I'll be moving to 10 very soon, grudgingly), but after I finish watching this I'm going to go see if I can find out when they added it.

My favorite obscure, everyday-use-type Windows trick that I like to show fellow nerds is 'CTRL-SHIFT-ESC' to bring up the task manager quickly, but this might replace that one in obscurity. Almost like Microsoft sucks at documentation and teaching you or leading you to all the functionality of the OS.

Oh well. Anyway, thanks for all your Pixel-related content, it's been super helpful in safely rooting and updating my phone in the past, and your production value and ability to impart knowledge and detail without being stuffy or boring is appreciated. The current non-working things in this LineageOS build are enough to keep me from trying it for now, but it's nice to know that there are some ways to keep getting some life out of my trusty Pixel 1.

Can we still boot back into TWRP recovery after booting the img file from adb and installing Lineage OS?

Now that safety net does hardware evaluation to detect an open bootloader (which, as of now, magisk cannot bypass with no hope for a fix in the horizon) do you think it's possible to unlock the bootloader, root the phone and relock it with magisk installed? No custom recovery or kernels. If the bootloader is locked then we could still have root, right?

Upon reboot to system 8:03 Magisk asks "Upgrade to full Magisk to finish the setup. Download and Install? Options: Cancel/OK OK results in "There was a problem parsing the package" OK - Magisk doesn't load. Cancel and Magisk also doesn't load.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any solution available? Help!

Hello, thank you for your very good tutorials. Easy to follow easy to understand. I installed the rom yesterday but now I have a BIG problem. I charged the phone today turned off and when I unplugged the charger after work the big battery symbol still glows and it is stuck :-(. Any suggestions?
