Join YouTuber Amanda McKnight as she reacts to the Marvel Animation's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Official Trailer. In animated Disney Plus series we'll follow Homecoming Spider-Man in his homemade suit as we learn what he was doing in the time after his powers manifested but before he met Tony Stark. While this character was portrayed by Tom Holland in the MCU, in the animated series the character will instead be voiced by Hudson Thames. We'll also see Charlie Cox return to voice Matt Murdock and possibly also his superhero person Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio return to voice the villain Kingpin aka Wilson Fisk. Peter seems to be joined by friends Harry Osborn and Nico Minoru and also comes into contact with Norman Osborn and Oscorp, possibly where he gets his new Future Foundation inspired Spidersuit. The show was conceived as taking place in the sacred timeline, covering the six-month time frame from when he gets his powers, to his meeting Tony Stark. However, as development for the show progressed, they probably decided that that time frame and overall continuity would be too limiting. Therefore, this series takes place in a different timeline altogether.

I like the animation. It's different from the current ones we've been given (What If? and X-Men '97), falling somewhere in between both.

Yeah, that's definitely the Freedom Foundation suit, and I hope that means he'll be receiving it from the FF and not Osbourne, as since the FF is going to be finally joining the MCU in a few months, to give us a taste of them by them showing up in Spidey's show would make sense. Besides, that tracks with what Marvel has done in the past, ie: the Guardians of the Galaxy appearing in another Spidey cartoon prior to their debut in the MCU.

I was iffy on the first trailer. But really disappointed they made Norman Osborn black. Only Future Foundation gave Spidey a black and white suit.

Don’t see how this could be MCU Spidey’s early days. There is no Oscorp in the MCU. Which would be fine. Not everything needs to be movie canon

As a massive contrast to the recent movie and a tie-in shout-out, I want to see an extreme horror Halloween episode starring Kraven in this adaptation. The movie version of Kraven is akin to a big game hunter Tarzan, while the comic version is straight villain always out to savage Spidey as the ultimate game. Kraven's Last Hunt is an iconic comic that can unsettle new readers. Casting Morbius for a Halloween episode is too obvious, although he will work regardless.

If you want to get super-harsh, Black Cat--Felicia Hardy--provides more than enough interpersonal drama. She can bridge the gap between Spidey and Parker while becoming a roadblock in his civilian romances. She's also a bandit, which makes her a difficult moral conundrum outside of making herself useful in a pinch. Also, nobody can resist a good Thief-Acrobat in D&D.

Last pick: Red Sonja. No kidding. Make it happen. Other than my affinity for redheads, it should happen because there have been cross-overs in the comics between rights holders for Red Sonja and Spider-Man, one instance of which had Mary Jane Watson become possessed by the spirit of the Hyborean She-Devil Sword-Slinger. It's a given, really.
