Good stuff..you need some merch..
T-shirts or mugs with “that’s a pretty phrase” on ‘em..or maybe just “pretty!!”

Wow! This is such a game changing video. I'm finally starting to see how the phrasing works and how all of the "tools" can be interchanged to generate infinite (interesting) phrases. It reminds me of putting chains of attack moves together in fighting games like Mortal Kombat. My brain is exploding. Thanks for sharing!

One of over a hundred incredibly valuable lessons. I keep getting back to them and it's starting to sink in. Thanks so much for your great work.

"what happens if I land on the 2nd of the tonic chord?" is something that I've never asked myself when making lines. I've been approaching it as if I always always had to land on the root, 3rd, 5th, or 7th, even though I practice things from the 2nd on a major scale (when only practicing the major scale in isolation). . . this just opened up a lot of things for me, brother

Excellent lesson. There is not enough emphasis out there on how to end lines. Once again you showed the simplicity of utilizing Barry's ABCs in this context as well... You are awesome! Someone made a request in one of your videos to see you do some improvisation on a full tune with backing track. It would be wonderful to hear you connect all the ABCs in multiple sections of a tune. I would love to transcribe that! please consider posting this :)

Thanks, Chris. This lesson gave me a big push forward and a lot of fun. It's not that difficult I thought before (:-))

Sell us something. I’d love to have a little package of these ideas. You could start small like the D7/dominant stuff. Make em small and good and sell ‘em forever. Love your stuff.

Great material, I have some jazz on in the background and I'm listening to Grant Green lay down very similar licks on "Wives and Lovers"...extremely cool moment in time...! Thank You! ;-)

To end on the 2nd (9) actually creates a pretty phrase. There’s a video in which Barry plays over the Rhythm changes bridge and he ends on the 9th in four consecutive phrases. Great job, love your videos!

Thanks for all this. You do a really good job of teaching the importance of basics and how to use them to get from point A to point B. This recent series about building lines is especially helpful. I almost feel like I'm stealing a personal lesson. Have you ever thought about putting up a Patreon page?

Hey Chris. As regards Barry Harris's teaching about playing tritone / family of dominants - is this something one can jump straight into or does that wait till you've got lines from the V chord somewhat comfortable?
