This notion that Nev was a bad player needs to stop. He's been too humble over the years and people have got it in their heads now that he was some sort of Charity case in the team.

Imagine Beckham, De Bruyne and Scholes assisting Haaland...

Not a United fan, but Paul Scholes was pure class- without him, there would have been no treble.

Never mind some of his outrageous takes, I think Gary is definitely too humble about his career and his worth as a player. I don't like United but he was pure class, absolutely top 3 in his position in the Prem, might even be the best

Its criminal that Dwight Yorke only won one individual award that season - he had the most goal contributions of any player in Europe's top leagues (29 goals, 19 assists) and was a key part of the first English team to win a treble.

To provide more context: Ginola won the 1999 PFA Player of the Year with 3 goals + 10 assists in the league and no trophies, Yorke registered 18 league goals and 11 assists and won the league and FA cup. Rivaldo won the 1999 Ballon D'or after registering 29 goals and 18 assists across all comps and won only La Liga.

Barcelona didn't make it out of the Champions League group stage that season. They played United twice with both games ending 3-3. Over those games, Rivaldo scored 2 goals, Yorke registered 1 goal and 1 assist. Yorke came 11th in the Ballon D'or that season. Disgrace!

Why do they act like Neville was some bang average player. He was a great player that was in the United team for 2 decades. Give him some respect.

I completely understand Carragher here. If i had 0 Premier League titles just because of one team, then I would probably also have a personal grudge against that team 😂

I love how Neville used Carragher's reasoning for Grealish to discredit Carragher dropping Scholes

The disrespect jamie did to scholes giggs its pure rivalry bias because hes a Liverpool fan

Grealish and Gundogan over Giggs and Scholes is pure lunacy

Neville is so humble he's dragged himself down to Carraghers level but when you look at the trophies and achievements its like comparing Maldini to Harry Maguire. Carragher is a Micah Richards level player not a PL legend.

I’m a lifelong Liverpool fan but even I can concede that that United midfield of Keane, Scholes, Beckham and Giggs was perfection. Greatest Prem midfield ever.

Gary is right. Jose was the first one to raise the bar of the league with 95 points in his first Chelsea season. Then Pep and Klopp took it further with 100, 99, 98 & 97 points between 2018-2020.

I’m an Evertonian and Nev is right, that United midfield was perfect: the best crosser/dead ball specialist on one side, and a pacey wizard out-right winger on the other, with the most skill fill goal-scoring midfielder in the middle alongside an inspirational captain and defensive blocker. Incredible.

Gary is so humble man, he was a great player.

City fan but I think Gary is right, we haven't actually won anything yet so not really fair to compare a team that has won the treble to one that hasn't won it yet, and might not even do it

I’m not even gonna lie, Walker is genuinely up there with the best RBS the Prem has ever seen (although is is probably the weakest position ever also), but Walker hasn’t even been a starter this season. Picking him ahead of Gary for this comparison is unfair and I think Gary didn’t argue for himself because he didn’t want to come across as arrogant

When Gary looks in the camera and asks Keown if he’s alright 😅

I like Neville’s analysis - he is honest

Gary is right. Fans think Pep changed the premier league, but Mourinho was a decade ahead. With 95 points, breaking records and playing amazing football with amazing defence
