Do Fish Attractants Really CATCH MORE Fish?!

Do fish attractants really catch more fish? I have been seeing Bait fuel all over the place lately and it got me wondering if scents really catch more bass. Today we put fish attractants to the test to determine if they really catch more fish or if it is just something else to make you believe you will catch more fish.

I have always believed that scent is used to cover up human scent on lures and not to be an attractant to fish.

been using baitfuel for a year now, I can't say for certain it catches more fish but I can tell you it doesn't hurt, I've caught a ton of fish this year on both baits with baitfuel and without, my two biggest bass so far this year a 6.2 and a 7.1 both were caught on the whiplash shad soaked in baitfuel, probably would have caught them on unscented as well but who knows?

I believe that it works well in the late winter into early spring even the dead of winter I've had situations that it made a difference slow moving plastics etc

One thing different between Baitfuel and other scents is that Baitfuel is water soluble and most other scents are not. Do scents work? If you believe a scent works, then you are going to fish with more confidence! IMHO positive thinking can make a big difference in catch rates! 🤷🏼‍♂️

I can attest to it working at times. On the lake yesterday side by side with my brother. Same spot same zoom trick worm, one with bait fuel one with out. Bait fuel was getting hammered. Stock worm got bit once. Some days it doesn’t seam to make a difference, some days it does. 🤷🏽‍♂️. Just my thoughts.

Killed ‘em at presque isle today, put some fish attractant on a ned rig and caught big smallies!

I can't find it in stores anymore, but years ago I would use "Bill Dance Real Craw" nothing but crawdad oil, I would catch fish after fish when my friends wouldn't

On a day they are biting anyway it’s no difference. Days they aren’t biting well is when you see a difference. And you don’t always see a difference.

I think scent works but baitfuel does not smell like anything, I have some but you really got to wonder if that stuff is a gimmick, I'm starting to think somebody is laughing all the way to the BANK

Wacky rig is most likely a reaction bite. So probably scented wouldn’t matter as much

I'm not a fan of using any type of scent. It may work some of the time, but not all the time. I rather use my money on buying some more tackle than scent.

Did you reapply the scent after a few casts or change to a fresh worm? As mentioned above it's water based so it's going to wear off after a few minutes of fishing. You may have done 35 more minutes of non scented experiment😂

I do watch Fishing with Norby and he uses Thump Gel and he throw a soft plastic or hard bait with this Thump Gel spread all over the bait. 🤔

If a fish bit unscented, it would have bitten scented. That fact alone makes this test pretty meaningless. Get livescope and find fish that wont bite unscented then see of they bite the scented.
