Lymph node resident, CD8α+ dendritic cell (green) extends initial membrane protrusion prior to docking and junction formation with migratory CD103+ dendritic cell (red). Dendritic cells were sorted from lymph nodes of membrane-tdTomato-expressing (red) or membrane-GFP-expressing (green) mice and briefly co-cultured prior to imaging. Dendritic cell:dendritic cell interactions were imaged by a custom-built lattice light sheet microscope.
