14 PEAKS | NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE | MAKING THE SOUNDTRACK | NIMSDAI

Bringing the mountains to life! An epic adventure needs an epic soundtrack, so it was a huge pleasure to have award-winning composer @nainita_desai create the soundtrack for #14Peaks.

This brilliant score has already been nominated for the Best Score, Documentary Film at this year’s Hollywood Music in Media Awards. The soundtrack is now available on all platforms so make sure you listen to it on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your music.

Recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios with the London Contemporary Orchestra, Nainita said that the greatest challenge was creating a soundscape as epic as the mountains. She said: “I want the audience to experience what I did when I saw the film for the first time, to find out about this man and what makes him tick. Nims really shows what it means to be human, and I think the music had to encapsulate the huge range of emotions and the experience he was going through.”

Mixing soaring strings and single violins, while incorporating instruments native to Nepal, Nainita wanted every peak to have its own sound. She said: “There are a few lines in the movie that really resonated with me. He says ‘You find out who you are through climbing. You’re in that line between life and death constantly on the mountains.’ I really wanted to try and get that across through the music.”
