I work at a shop, and I can definitely say I’ve seen some impressively high miles on newer Mazdas. A 2018 CX-9 came in with 207k already on it. It was still in great shape too.

Mazdas are so underrated. Every one I have ever owned has been a joy to drive (Zoom! Zoom!) and has given long, reliable service. I will continue to take one over a Toyota (boring), Nissan (junk), or Honda (not that reliable and expensive to fix) any day.

Mazda 3 is awesome. 2009 model is still running at 405k km, started maintaining it myself after 200k, during the period i replaced fuel pump, alternator, starter motor, o2 sensor, spark plug etc. Pretty easy car to work on.

Mazda cars are build to last. I bought my 2011 Mazda 3 new and now it is 170, 000km on the clock. The car NEVER had any major issue, NEVER had any failure. As I'm growing older and planning to start a family, my next purchase would be a Mazda CX-60 inline 6 diesel. I love Mazda.

Mine has over 190, 000 miles, and I spent less than $1, 000 over the last 8 years on scheduled maintenance and repairs. Excellent vehicle! Mine is a 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback.

I really appreciate you making videos that appeal to all different angles of the car community. This video, for example, may not be as interesting to the people who enjoy watching Rotary Life on your channel, but is extremely helpful for people looking to get a fun, manual first car. It really shows that you're not just after the views and genuinely want to help others. Thank you!

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who REALLY likes their Mazda 3 awd. It's such a fun car.

That red battery light you mention actually means there's no charging of the battery (so usually alternator issue), not the low battery level. That's why it pops up when you turn on the ignition without actually starting the engine, engine systems are on but battery isn't being charged. It's similar in that way to the low oil pressure light ;)

After a couple months of browsing, shopping, and researching, I decided to go for a 2022 Mazda 3 Hatchback. These videos really helped me feel confident in the choice, and this video happened to upload the day I hope to hear back from my local credit union about a loan. Thanks for making these. I'm stoked to get one of these now

I love my 2017 Mazda 3. I started doing my own maintenance procedures such as oil changes, filter changes and tire rotations. Very easy car to work on. Nice video and great car!

Love the videos, man! As someone at 30, 000, it is encouraging to hear the car is holding up the way it is. Gotta take those maintenance costs with a grain of salt though, for most viewers. Dealership tends to really hammer those costs. You can change spark plugs for like $40 yourself, and it takes like 10 minutes. For anyone who does their own maintenance though if you cut those costs in half, $2-3, 000 isn't bad to maintain these bad boys without any other mechanical failures.

Yup, that sounds like a Mazda. Thin paint, interior plastics that scratch, and nothing needing repair outside of regular wear and tear items. I'll take that trade off every day of the year. I had a 2010 MX-5 for about 10 years and loved it! I'm seriously thinking of getting another Mazda.

Congrats on 100k! Making a video while it's snowing and its cold shows true dedication. Here's to 200k! 👏.

Congrats on hitting every state! Your videos have been the best assets when I was researching the Mazda 3.
I’m now a happy owner of a 2023.

I can confirm the battery issue. I have been drivinv my 2019 Mazda 3 for almost 20K km and I stopped to clean and wash the car. Before this the battery or the car didnt show any issues. When finished I wanted to start the car and I had the same error message on the dash. I first thought that I may have hit the crash sensor as my dash was going wild and i could hear the car trying to start but the engine only clicking. At the end it was actually the battery that had only about 5V left. Another issue I had was the TPMS sensors on my winter tires. The car does not like to read the sensors properly so every now and then I get a message to check theTPMS sensors. Other than that I love my car as well and it is an absolute blast to drive and to look at.

Very well done Mazda and I do not regret getting the BMW or Audi instead.

You're right to point out the Mazda paint chipping. It's really bad.

I’m honestly surprised it wasn’t over the amount you said. No matter what some owners mights say, Mazdas are expensive af to maintain. They’re built to last though so that should make up for it. Damn good engineering there’s just so much shit under the hood that could potentially cause problems

I have a 2014 Mazda 3 GT tech at 215000km (133500 miles) and absolutely love it. Best car I've ever owned. It recently got hit while parked and likely totaled by a reckless driver doing donuts in the parking lot. For how much car you get with what you pay, it cannot be beat. I literally whisper "I love you" to it from time to time. I'll have to pick up a replacement unless insurance thinks it's fixable. Great review, great that you actually drive it to its limits.
