As the head of IT for a global company, I must stress that the video is incorrect: Serverless does not mean there are no servers.

Serverless architecture means the code runs across many small environments, not a single server. These environments are hosted on numerous servers. For example, AWS Lambda is a serverless service where code runs in containers, which still need servers. In a serverless setup, millions of containers are managed by thousands of servers.

Moreover, a persistent server is required to manage when these environments run. For a company to maintain its own serverless environment, it can be more costly for smaller projects because it needs multiple servers. When sharing the environment, costs are distributed among all users.
