Who Is Accused Defense Secrets Leaker Jack Teixeira?

Twenty-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, who is accused of leaking government secrets, appeared in federal court. Prosecutors say Teixeira is behind the most serious breach of national security in 10 years. In court, Teixeira's mother prayed and wept as the 21-year-old suspect was arraigned on espionage charges. If convicted of leaking classified documents, he faces up to 15 years in jail.

Difficult to believe that a 21yr old guardsman had access to this level of documents/intel and was posting them online for months upon months undetected. This is probably the most severe and extensive breach of US national security/intel since Snowden and maybe worse than that. It may even be the worst breach in History.

Big mistake by the government in how the documents managed to be leaked. Some work needs to be done from their side.

Quick background on the case:

Jack Teixeira, 21, wore shackles and a prison uniform as he stood before a federal judge.

After a shout of "love you, Jack" from a person in the courtroom, the defendant replied "you too, dad".

Mr Teixeira faces up to 15 years in prison over charges of unauthorised transmission of defence information.

He is also charged with the unauthorised removal and retention of classified documents.
