Magma’s live performances are insanely just as heavy as any thrash or metal band I’ve seen. Probably heavier and more interesting frankly. Love live

I love the band. I've been listening to them for 50 years and have seen them many times! I do miss Antoine Paganotti on vocals, but the new guy is good too.

If I was to send a band to represent our planet at some galactic music festival..
I would send Magma.
Without even thinking twice.

A new Magma album! The packaging and vinyl are gorgeous! I started listening to them in 1977. I was 21 at the time. Needless to say that they were really different...a little harsh on the ears. However, a funny thing happened. I later found them to be AMAZING!!! Yes, you have to set them aside at times, but I'm very thrilled that the band is still going strong. Thanks to you for sharing about your music...and especially your interesting interviews!

I've just realized you have a TON of videos for over 10 years, I love that spirit. I hope you have lots of fun with these videos too

Good Afternoon Dereck,
Yes agree with you on Magma, creating their own musical language. I have their first double or triple album somewhere in my collection. Dereck, as you are aware: good music need no lyrics and can damage what would have been a grand performance. Conversely, an added lyric, with meaning and substance ie good word play, enhance the listening experience. The times we currently live in appear to be be somewhat akin to "Irrigating Hell". However, a great expanse of beauty still exists lets enjoy that beauty in all of this gloom. "Revolving Cocks" are they an Australian Band Dereck? I remember vaguely seeing them in a Pub in Sydney in the early 80s with another band called "Psychotic Turbuckles" Love Siouxsie's work going all the way back to 1978 "Hong Kong Garden", then "Dear Prudence" "Christine", "Happy House" I know they are early releases but great songs in my humble opinion. Thank you for the shout-out the other week, I don't always respond, but I do tune in. I am so happy you have recovered and are back healthy again. Go well Dereck.
