I am from the Philippines and I bought the new Samsung Tab S7+. It does not come with Microsoft Office for free. The app is installed, but you need to upgrade to premium to use it. When I open one file it automatically goes to "Read-only" mode. This is disappointing, I bought the tab knowing it comes with Microsoft. I was going to use the tab as substitute for my PC, but I can't even use it for simple editing of Word, Excel and Powerpoint docs.

I installed office app on my Samsung S6 lite tab. The app only allows me to see documents in read only mode and says office 365 subscription is a must to edit or save a document. What is the solution?

No, the free version for Microsoft Office is not working in 12.4 inch Samsung Tab S7+ running android 10. It is saying to edit and save in Tab S7+ (12.4 inch Samsung Tablet running Android 10), a Microsoft 365 subscription is required. Every time when I open Word, it is asking to pay for Office 365 subscription.

Does not work for free. You've got to have a subscription. You can download only the shell app for free which is pritty much useless w/o the Office365 subscription. Misleading title.

thank you sir. This is actually very helpful since we're currently planning on the applications that we will use for distance learning here in PH. And since some of the students here don't own a laptop/desktop at home, using office in androids phones will save us computer teachers. I hope to see more of these microsoft office for smartphone tutorials from you. :)

how about android tablets? don't they ask for subscription based on screen size?
