For feebas it’s simple. Give it a bunch of placebo and give it a confidence boost to increase its inner beauty then it evolves to match

"If you want meltan candy, you know what you need to do." Yes, buy some hard-to-find candy and walk literally EVERYWHERE after feeding him some poffins.

In the anime the trade evolutions were done via a trade machine

"only one reason why your good friend would have a pichu after six years" yeah his pichu wants to stay a pichu so he gave it a everstone.

The meltan one gets explained somewhat in a dex entry, a melmetal is just a really big collection of meltan

The manga actually explains it a little bit with how stone and trade evolutions can sometimes be ignored. Like I think Gold/Ethan's sunkern evolved without a sun stone because it absorbed a metric ton of solar energy or something like that.

My headcanon is that Inkay becomes very top heavy while it’s leveling up and eventually flips on it’s own

I have a headcanon that the trading machines we saw in the anime play a part in the trade evos, there's a unique energy signature present in the transferrence of ownership that reacts to the infinity energy of the pokemon

For febass the beauty is about the trainer seeing the beauty within. The ruby manga has an example about it

I know in the Pokemon anime they had a trading machine. There was a whole episode with Professor Juniper and Bianca trading their Karrablast and Shelmet to each other. Which they evolved after.

A common misconception is that Pokémon GO candy comes from taking up all your pokémon, and sending them to Professor Willow to get grinded up into a fine powder that then gets turned into candy, and while this is a joke, the real explanation is actually worse in my opinion.

When you give a Pokémon a pineapple (which doubles the amount of candy you get from catching it) a special effect will play. If you look carefully, you can see grey (because Niantic is lazy) candy popping out of the pokémon, which implies that candy is actually the pokémon's shit. Basically you gather all of this pokémon's shit and force it to consume it all at the same time....which just sounds like torture.

Even the regular evolutions would be strange
Like, imagine being literal gru to evolve your clefairy

Trade evolutions are supposed to be unnatural, like trading a scyther while carrying a metal coat is supposed to be the coat melting and forcing a rapid evolution during the trade.

The dex entries for Karrablast or Shelmet (I forget which) explains trade evolution. You need an electrical current near the Pokemon when exchanging. Those two near each other and the current of a power line is enough. For others, guess zap the Pokemon while it's in its Pokeball?

"For those without a heart"
Yes, stallers are perfectly described like that.

Drowning eevee in water to get a vaporeon? Throwing an eevee in jungle for leafeon?

I mean, for the trade evolutions it’s most commonly depicted as a machine that officially trades them, so it could just be electricity, radiation or radio signals messing with them

Fun fact in the red and blue manga, after a scuffle with team rocket grunts (or a pokemon i can't remember) red accidently tales blues machoke and he uses it to fight team rocket where it evolves and blue was confused by this because he couldn't understand why machoke wouldn't evolve for him so yeah trade evolutions are just canonically weird in pokemon
