Did You Know In JOJO RABBIT…

During their last appearance together, Captain Klenzendorf and Finkel are seen with pink triangles patched onto their uniforms. This is a reference to the relationship the two of them have throughout the film. Nazis really would mark the clothes of gay men with pink triangles in a similar fashion to in the film.

You could feel the tension between those two.. especially in the German shepherd scene where they look like they're about to kiss then remember where they are and that JoJo is right there.

Because he made the uniform himself, it must be implied that he sew it on himself, probably in solidarity with those in the camps. God this movie has so many small details, gotta love it man.

The captain really saved him because he celled him Jewish that the USSR soldiers just let him go and a fhew seconds later the gun sound was heard

It's hilarious how some people thought JoJo is Finkel.

I think you should've put K and Finkle's scene together here instead of this one to avoid misunderstandings.

These pink triangles are actually concentration camp markings.
Every group of people in there got their own.
Jewish for example got a star, homosexuals the pink triangles and there also where differentliy coloured triangles and all kinds of shapes and combinations of these shapes.
You for example could also be marked as a gay jew its actually quite complex this shit.

And the reason captain k didn't let the kid save him was because he would've been killed anyways (after the war the Allies kept all the LGBTQ people in camps that's why we don't hear much stories about it)

If you were a gay soldier in USSR, you would go to gulag

It wasn't until the 80s that the gay community in Germany recovered. Only to face decimation once more.

For everyone saying that they’d be persecuted, yes they would but not under this context in my eyes. They made and modified their own costumes and I think it’s likely they added it themselves to reclaim their identity, just like lgbt people do nowadays with terms like “queer”.

🚨 SPOILER ALERT 🚨

In the Nazi execution scene towards the end of the film, when Captain K being dragged away from Jojo to be executed, you can see him holding Freddy Finkle’s cape. In the original draft of the script Captain K says that ‘My dear Finkle is gone too. I was very fond of him’, further proving that they were together. This was also stated in several interviews by the cast, and Taika Waititi says that it is canon. RIP Captain K and Freddy Finkle 🏳️‍🌈 💐

I didn't notice, however, it doesn't make sense. The Rosa Winkel was sown to the clothes of prisoners in death-camps. Since he was free and fought for the Nazis until the Americans captured him, he would not have been marked like that.
