DIY Outdoor Bench - Modern Bench How-To

In today's video, I'm making a modern outdoor sitting bench.

The bench is based on a standard decking board with a size 28mmx142mm. And the material used is Siberian larch, which can be left outside without any surface treatment. Over time the wood will develop a grey tone, and to speed up this process I treated the wood with iron oxide sprayed on.

Great job on that bench! However, I would have lined up the grain of the plugs with the grain of the wood they were going into. That way, it would look almost invisible. Don't you think? :)

Great Bench. Maybe I would've fit the plugs to the grain of the wood so they nearly disappear. But that's just perfectionism on my side...

Beautiful work, dude! Nicely done! 😃
Only 2 tips about those plugs: try to put them following the grain direction... And make a mallet to put them! 😊
Sorry about the mallet part, but I LOVE mallets. 😬
Anyway, stay safe there! 🖖😊

Why not glue the leg pieces together before screwing them to each other?

Love your project sorry I'm late to the party. A good way I found to age wood is to let steel wool soak in some vinegar for 24hrs and then apply the liquid to your wood. It will turn gray in about a half-hour. I've used that on cedar, pine and bass wood. Works great. Again love your channel keep up the good work.

Binge watching your channel after finding it from the camera arm vid. Was curious what program you use to 3D model your projects?

I like this I think the only thing I change is I put a mitre on the two leg pieces just to get a cleaner join purely cosmetic but it would give it of slightly cleaner luck I probably do the same all the way round the bench actually👍

I use plugs this way quite often and always line up the grain of the plugs with the grain of the wood they go into. That helps hide them. Or are trying to accentuate the plugs?
