A panel consisting of Minister for Energy John Hayes MP, Rosatom's Head of International Business Alexey Kalinin, CPS expert Tony Lodge and co-founder of Climate Answers and former Executive Director of Greenpeace Stephen Tindale debated the UK's energy challenge and the need for new nuclear plant in a CPS panel debate at Conservative Party Conference. The event was sponsored by Lord Vinson.

At this event, John Hayes MP repeatedly praised the CPS' "excellent" report on nuclear energy, 'The Atomic Clock'.

It was also exclusively revealed by Alexey Kalinin that Russia's state atomic energy corporation, Rosatom, is ready to invest in the development of a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK. Tony Lodge, CPS energy expert commented: "Britain needs a diversity of new atomic investors alongside companies like EDF. Rosatom, through a sister company, has been reliably providing nuclear fuel for Sizewell B for many years and is constructing modern nuclear reactors around the world. The need is great."
