Here's the written steps + extra info for everyone who's having trouble. If you miss a step this will not work

REMINDER TO RUN .NET 6.0 AFTER YOU INSTALL IT, this is where most people are having trouble

1. Click the first link in the description
2. Install .NET 6.0, the mod helper, and MelonLoader
3. Run .NET 6.0
4. Open the Bloons TD 6 file through steam by right clicking on the name, going to manage, and then pressing browse local files
5. From the folder window click back onto common and then you should see all of your steam games
6. Copy and paste the BloonsTD6 file and rename it to make it easier to find
7. Enter into the pasted folder and keep it open.
8. Switch over to your downloads folder where you should see a file called MelonLoader.x64 and Btd6ModHelper.dll
9. Enter into the Melon Loader file and copy and paste the 4 files into the copied Bloons TD 6 folder
10. Now open Bloons TD 6 through the copied file
11. Close the game and then check the copied file. There should be 4 new folders there
12. Click on the mods folder in the copied file and then copy and past the Btd6ModHelper.dll into this mods file
13. Open the game through the copied folder and there should be a mods tab in the bottom right
14. Now you can freely install any mods that you wish to. Remember to restart the game after installing mods
15. (Optional) Create a desktop shortcut for the copied game so that you do not always need to go to your files to launch

If you launch the game regularly through steam it will not have mods on it. Only the game in the copied file will.

You should make an alt account for modding as well, it does not take long to get tower upgrades and heroes unlocked if you use mods. I used the faster forward mod, ultimate crosspathing, and unlimited heroes to get everything fully unlocked within a few hours. You can easily swap accounts when you launch the game. This is simply to avoid getting your main account flagged, if you do so you will be unable to use online features in the game. If your account is flagged, you will see 2 leaves on the settings icon on the home menu.

EVERYTHING IN THIS TUTORIAL STILL WORKS, if it doesn't for you, you missed a step or did something wrong.

i have a problem, when i put the mod helper file in the mods folder it couldnt open. it just crashed. idk what to do.

everytime i try to open the game it gets on a black screen after some time, and if i click on that black screen it gets on a white screen what do i do?

When i went to restart the game to download the mods fully the game shortcut disappeared and the btd6 modded game file disappeared from the folder

thank you so much! i love how btd6 is basically incorperating mods as a feature of the game by making it so you can search and download them through the game without any 3rd parties or anything

everytime I go on btd6 it never shows the modded section and I have done literally everything i could and followed everything
any tips ?

anytime i try to go into a game it says difficulty cannot be determined at this stage of creating the gamemodel
use the list of modmodels to find the difficulty instead
preference saved
and then my game crash
