these shows were rough, not going to lie. Ariana is pushing through though.

her voice is literally starting to sound like its gonna give up on her soon. you can definitely see the difference from the my everything (even yours truly) to this.

I feel like it was rough these first few shows since it was her first time singing nonstop for an hour and a half in a very long time, so she's trying to eat used to it. In a month her voice will probably be back to normal, getting better as tour goes on. Just like what happened in the Honeymoon Tour.

You all miss a important point, we know her capacity to recover her full voice fast. I remember during her first jingle ball show 2016, she was out of breath and her voice wasn't perfect but during the shows that followed, her voice was perfection and better than ever with amazing agility, perfect vibrato and tone. I hope that will be the same here.

I held off on comments and prettier editing as I was kinda rushing, I haven't had much time for videos this year but I'll always try to put out content for y'all !

I'm a vocal performance major, and if there is anything that I know for a fact is that when receiving lessons, there is a learning curve. I believe Ariana was taught techniques for Hairspray Live! from Eric Vetro she probably didn't fully understand, and tried to apply misunderstood technique to her own songs (hence the new darkness, vibrato, and a little strain on upper belts, especially her pitchiness in Hairspray). When you are learning technique, and you are trying to fully understand how to use your body in a different way, you can end up doing part of a technique correct and lacking in the rest. I have never seen a vocalist not go through a period of time where though they are struggling, they're also improving because they're not doing as much wrong things as they could be doing. I feel like she is learning. Last tour she hired Aaron from "What Would Aaron Say?" YouTube voice videos. But you have to understand, learning technique, you always take 2 steps forward and 1 step back until you become comfortable with what your teacher is trying to get you to do.

Well clearly I'm in the very small minority right now but I honestly don't hear the "roughness" y'all are talking about. In fact I'm loving her voice like this! Her belts seem to be better supported, chestier, and powerful. I just hope the maturation of her voice is natural and not forced (which could pose vocal problems). I don't need a bunch of unsupported upper belts. Yes her ease isn't there but I don't care for belts above a G#5 anyways so this is perfect for me lol. Her falsettos, while pretty, have always been "weak" and airy, I don't hear a substantial drop in the quality of her notes in this register. And she's always had breath issues. And her upper belt technique was never great, showing tension, lack of support and resonance since she first came out. Her insanely high tessitura and ease just didn't make it as obvious. But all the things y'all are complaining about from these shows are critiques that have been discussed and noted since 2014. It's as if a lot of y'all are just now recognizing the problems that have always existed in her vocals lol regardless I love the new improvements, her upper belts still sound very good (they're a lot more impactful now) and her mid belts are sounding pretty spectacular! I've never watched an Ariana grande VR vid and halfway through we're barely into her fifth octave belts lol

She was definitely out of breath/straining in a lot of parts. But I don't necessarily think this is the beginning of her vocal decline. At the beginning of honeymoon tour her vocals weren't the best either. I hope she'll improve over the course of the tour!!

I really hope this roughness is because of her inexperience with these songs. the beginning of the hmt was rough but it got better at the end. hope it's like that.

okay this roughness she got is just like the same roughness in HMT era, it will get better just like HMT. Did you guys listen to touch it? the climax was so amazing tho.

I'm living for that G5 on touch it. can you imagine that with a vibrato 🎉🎉🎉🎉

she needs to realize belting above G5 isn't good for her without good tech.. I'll never understand why she isn't taking the time to have a vocal coach.. she should have one on tour with her to monitor her voice every night on every song, and give her descriptions on what she needs work on and train her voice as the tour progresses.. at this point she has the funds and she should have the will to want to grow

She probably just isn't used to singing ALL the songs from DW. Shes only mastered like a couple, not all.

It sounds like she's pushing her larynx really low or she trying to sound more powerful (which works amazing on some notes especially in touch it but not all notes) and it also sounds like she's out of breath a lot of the time. Her vocal technique during the honeymoon tour was the best it's ever been I hope she uses that technique for the remaining tour (or if she did a mix between her vocal technique in Le trianon performances and the honeymoon tour). I just wish that she belts higher and with better technique. But she still slayed like the queen she is
