Yes, more sustainable sources of dopamine are the best option. But remember that each individual still needs to find something that works for them personally. I HATE cold showers. I have a hard time taking care of myself in the first place. If I pressured myself to only take cold showers, it would be ten times harder to maintain good personal hygiene. If I don't make the experience even a little enjoyable, I will have little-to-no motivation for it. Maybe I'll work up to that someday, but this is a reminder that baby steps are important. Drastic, immediate changes will almost never last. Real progress takes time.

Every single day is an unique struggle. I recently self diagnosed myself after reading a couple of books on Adhd. I am against medication. But every book i read strongly recommended it. I hate the idea that my mind isnt functioning properly and that i need to rely on medications the rest of my life. Your videos give me hope that i can lead a normal life. Thanks for the videos.

This is why I go outside and walk daily. I am literally dopa-mining. Weightlifting is also a fantastic way to get dopamine and feel great!

Listening to good music, a consistent routine and having a place for important stuff that you need daily helps alot.
I appreciate you for your ideas. Setting alarms to remind me to do stuff helps or I'd be wandering around without a clue.
Thank you

Thank you. I enjoy the way my brain works. I love being able to understand it better, but I am still constantly looking for coping mechanisms. While I knew about dopamine, this is the first time I’ve considered developing a dopamine diet - not in the restrictive sense, but in the nutritional (?) sense. Developing a routine filled with healthy dopamine hits to replace the spastic method I’m currently applying - wow. I’m excited about this. Now I just need to do it in a way that feels rewarding and not demanding. Again, thanks.

I agree, great channel. The music thing I find a challenge, I've always loved music and got involved jn audio tech as I've got older.
When I'm depressed, we get there a lot hey? I disengage with music, but it's very healing. I do 3-4 days a wk on my day job, which is driving these days, hands too old for the tools, I have my favradio show on.
I start the day one step from meltdown, almost tearful, within 30mins of music, I'm finding reasons to smile and relax. My last job there was no music. It made a bad situation worse. Its only when, 5 years later, I find myself in a new job, the penny has dropped.
Thus is typical of divergent minds, we don't know what we need, what is good for us until its almost too late, if not beyond repair sometimes.

Wow. You're really educating me about myself. Things I do naturally and habitually are simply textbook. Who knew??? Nice to have a circle to fit into.
