I don't understand why United didn't go after Mario Hermoso who is a free agent as a cover for Licha. Clearly, United want Branthwaite but they couldn't afford him (this summer) if they sign De Ligt who is a must sign after Yoro's injury. Hermoso is only 29 without extensive injury records. United can't rely on Evans or Maguire after what happened last season and this pre-season. Just offer Hermoso a decent wage with a promise to sell him next season if he's not happy with his role.
