International concern grows over Iranian protests

The population of Iran isn't unfathomably huge, so it's quite possible these players have friends or even family members affected by violence occuring during these protests... They are probably scared for their lives... In conclusion... These athletes are nobly representing their nation in honorable competition and they may face oppression, consequences, and unspeakable peril, from political agendas that large parts of the world view as tyranny. So it's our responsibility, as a world that embraces freedom, to offer this team and the victims in Iran protection through asylum or other diplomatic relief...

Actually we Iranians hate the national team. In a time when other players speak directly against the government and female players remove their hijab, which leads to their arrest and torture. The national team met with murderous president Raeisi when people in Kurdistan were massacared and children were arrested in schools in the capital. We expected more from them, and as they refuse to talk about Iran's situation in conferences, people continue to hate them, and boo them at the matches.
