Pros and Cons of Pope on Gay Couples

In this episode of the Faith and the Outdoors podcast, I address several things. I start off with some tips for hunting in the late season. I then discuss some aspects of the Catholic Mass, such as why the priest wears different colored vestments at different times of the year. I also address why the focal point of the Church is the altar and why the priest reverences the altar when he walks into the Church for Mass. Lastly, I talk about the correct understanding of the new document that says that gay couples can, in some rare circumstances, request a private blessing from a priest or bishop and what that actually means. It does NOT mean that the priest or bishop is blessing their behavior, which is what many media outlets have misconstrued. It means something different than that, and I explain it in this episode.

13:00 very needed lesson in today’s times. The Bible has lessons over and over again where people worship God in a way that he did not ask, and he punishes. God revealed himself and instructed how we are to worship him. I know a few converts. The glow, the amazement, the fire of their joy after receiving confession and the Eucharist is amazing. They never have doubts. It’s wonderful.

I tried to nail my 95 Theses to the comments section of this video, but I hit the Youtube character limit.

I agree.
The document has been made a mess of in the media.
People are misinterpreting it and getting upset for no reason.

I love seeing all the Traditionalists & Sedevacantists having meltdowns over Fiducia Supplicans. The wheat is being separated from the tares. Jesus Himself blessed sinners. There are no mandates that anyone had to be free of sin before they could receive a blessing, in fact, the sinner needs blessings more than those who are in God's grace.

The written history of Christianity points to the belief in the Eucharist from the beginnings.

St. Justin Martyr was born a pagan but converted to Christianity after studying philosophy. He was a prolific writer and many Church scholars consider him the greatest apologist or defender of the faith from the 2nd century. He was beheaded with six of his companions some time between 163 and 167 A.D.

"This food we call the Eucharist, of which no one is allowed to partake except one who believes that the things we teach are true, and has received the washing for forgiveness of sins and for rebirth, and who lives as Christ handed down to us. For we do not receive these things as common bread or common drink; but as Jesus Christ our Savior being incarnate by God's Word took flesh and blood for our salvation, so also we have been taught that the food consecrated by the Word of prayer which comes from him, from which our flesh and blood are nourished by transformation, is the flesh and blood of that incarnate Jesus."

Folks who are following an alternative a strange doctrine will not receive the benefit of the passion.

Sean, if you turn off your comments on your faith channel then your faith channel leaves no one to challenge you on who you call God, Paul would never do that. It becomes a mormon channel if you do or Jehovah witness channel or a Muslim channel.

You said the reason the priest showed up to the slowly dying teenager was to sprinkle water on him so he could be saved and without that sprinkle he would have not been saved. I challenge you with this, the priest told him about Jesus and the teenager believed him and that’s what saved him with or without the sprinkling. His faith in Christ saved him just like the faith of the thief on the cross saved him. The teenager believed in Jesus was saved and was and the thief believed and was saved both enters into the kingdom of God because of their faith in Jesus.

Very good on the description of the Catholic version of communion.

Sean, Do you see the parallels between the religiosity of Pharisees and the clergy of the Catholic Church?

Whats that saying? The devil doesnt care about the "good moral man" he wants to bring down the faithful man. Or something like that.

Also, in John did his disciples literally eat his body? It reads to me like they ate bread, as a symbol.

What sad about Rome is you need somebody to interpret the magisteriums. And there are various interpretations. So people like Michael lofton has to nuance and jargon his way to a proper interpretation.

Be open to the possibility that God has led you to alter your content mostly because of errors within your own doctrine. I’m sure you’re familiar with the beam in your own eye parable.

It seams like you’re not familiar with how the internet works. If you publicly call people heretics on the internet, you shouldn’t whine and fuss when people return the favor. That’s a bad look. I don’t fault you for being abrasive, sometimes that can’t be avoided. I’m criticizing your whiny attitude towards the push back. The church needs men, not crybabies.

That being said, I have a question. Do you believe you can disagree with the pope? Can a catholic have an opinion that’s contrary to the pope, or would that be sin?

Just a tip. You will lose subscribers. It would be better to separate Jesus-videos to another channel. Not all people like talking gays like this
