Big Idea: God gives unexplainable joy.

Bible Story: David Dances Before the Ark (2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19)

Question of the Day: “What’s something that makes you really happy?”

Discussion Questions:
1. Why was the Ark of the Covenant so important to David? (It was God’s presence that would be with God’s people!)
2. How did David respond when the Ark finally arrived in the city? (He danced for joy!)
3. What is the difference between happiness and joy?
4. How does God give us unexplainable joy?

Activity: Joy Box
Cut out the “Joy Box” from the printable! Use craft supplies to decorate the box and then use glue or tape to secure the box together! Then use the strips of paper to write down things that bring you joy and put the paper strips in the “joy box!”
Fill your “joy box” throughout the week to be reminded that God gives unexplainable joy!
