Why the Big Bang is just a Theory

When we look at faraway galaxies, they are actually moving away from us, but there was a time when they were all packed closely together - likely at a single point. We also know that when we compress matter, it tends to heat up. This is part of the reasoning behind the Big Bang theory. This concept is commonly agreed upon among scientists - so why then, is the Big Bang theory *just* a theory, and not a scientific law?

University of Toronto PhD candidate Victor Chan explains how it happened, and how scientific theories work, in the latest edition of Cosmos From Your Couch!

Big thanks for everyone watching this video! It's a pleasure to share knowledge about a topic I've been very curious about since I was a child, and also to be doing research that directly contributes to our understanding of the Universe!

There is a missing link in the universe where the energy levels of the atom were 8 levels... Where did the 8th level disappear? We should look for it instead of inventing myths. When you knew where he disappeared and how and why, the shock and astonishment would have been greater instead of the huge, baseless explosion.
