"Ferris Bueller’s Day Off" remains an ‘80s classic, and it gave a big career boost to a lot of the actors who appeared in it. Mia Sara was only 17 when she played Ferris’ girlfriend Sloane Peterson, which was a bit challenging, seeing as how all of the other actors playing teenagers were out of high school. At the time, Sara was already known for her role in the Ridley Scott film "Legend," but these two sadly remain her most famous roles, even though she has continued to act. Let’s take a look at what happened to Mia Sara, the actress who played Sloane in "Ferris Bueller’s Day Off."

Mia Sara was one of the most beautiful Women to have ever existed back in the 80s. She was a perfect 10/10.

Great to see that she didn't spiral into drug use or become embittered when her acting career wound up. She sounds happy and appears to lead a contented life.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my favourite 80s movies

I am 17, and watched the Ferris Bueller movie last night for the first time. Let me tell you, this girl was drop dead hot. My brother couldn't help but look at the grin I had on my face, lol!

Part of her that stands out is that hair. It isn’t that large curly rambunctious hairstyle females wore back then. It’s straight and elegant. She had such an insanely beautiful face and a timeless look. Sloane Peterson just doesn’t seem like a person out of the 80s. If Mia Sara still looked like that in 2020 she’d easily be the hottest woman alive.

She may have felt out of her depth in Ferris Bueller but it certainly didn't show. She held her own in that movie and wasn't at all just the forgettable girlfriend character. She definitely felt like an equal part of the team.

That’s funny she felt she’s reliving her flailing adolescence with Ferris Bueller, when she literally stole the movie as a graceful young actress. If you were a boy from the 80s no doubt you had a crush on her.

Really loved her speaking voice in Ferris Bueller. So much confidence and maturity for a young person.

I’d love to see a commercial based on Ferris and Sloan now as a bored, married couple.
FERRIS:
SLOAN: What?!
FERRIS: a beer.
SLOAN: You want and get it yourself. (walks away)
FERRIS: (looks at Sloan walking away. Has a smirk on his face. Looks into the camera....and we hear:

Sponsor: Geico, you want it? Go and get it.

She was of the prettiest girls I’d ever seen. She could be a muse for a renaissance painting

I Google searched all of the movies she was in, she's in like 40 all the way up to like 2015, she did not just dissappear. They just weren't hit movies. I knew she was in a lot. You should do a little more research before saying she disappeared after timecop.

Mia Sara is a very pretty woman who got movie roles through that. She even admits she never really had the drive to seriously pursue acting. As a result, she never hit it big but made a living taking on roles and making it as an actor. If her true love is writing more power to her for pursuing it. It will bring her more happiness than acting ever did.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my favorites accompanied by Back to The Future, Breakfast Club and Adventures in Babysitting, since I adore 80s movies.

Pity she did not enjoy being Sloane, I think she played the part to perfection and was gorgeous throughout.

Haha, this is great. I saw her once in an LA coffee shop and couldn't place her. I came THIS close to walking up to her and asking if we went to High School together.

4:10 that look when she turns around. Freeze it☺️Wow. Timeless beauty. If Mia Sara was that age today she could truly be the first western K-pop artist. That’s S-Tier level beauty that no longer exists in Hollywood today.

One thing about Ferris Buellers Day Off that is rarely memtioned was Ferris kind of being concerned about he and his best buddy Cameron drifting apart after their senior summer when they graduated and I assume went to different schools. He was also worried that Sloan who he loved and him would drift apart too if he went away to school and she still had another year of high school left.
Hey, it happens and is realistic. So he really wanted this day off to be the best day of skipping school ever with his best bud and best girl by his his side. Ferris wanted to give Cameron a good day and loosen him up and give him a self esteem boost but he didn't want to admit that he himself was a little concerned about losing his best buddy and girlfriend. He wanted to seize the day and create some amazing memories with them while he could. Ferris didn't lack for self confidence but I think he was a realist about life and how people eventually often drift apart.
Mia Sara was so beautiful and cool as Sloan its really a shame we didn't get to see her in too many other Hollywood films after this.
