BHP has posted a record $15.5 billion profit thanks to strong iron ore prices.

Sky News business reporter Edward Boyd said the company fetched $US130 a tonne for each of the almost 290 million tonnes of iron ore it shipped overseas over the course of the financial year.

This contributed to around 80 per cent of BHP’s profits since it only cost them around $US15 a tonne to produce the iron ore.

The company’s dividend was also up by $2 per share in the financial year.

BHP makes a big deal about going GREEN - if they tried to run a giant rock/ore hauler on electric instead of diesel fuel it would run for about 30 seconds then need a recharge.

The current leader of taliban was pardoned from a pakistani jail 3 years ago by trump's request, why did he do that?

BHP and others pile up those billions because their tax rate is too low... rip and run is their modus operandi, their sense of social responsibility.

It would appear this type of profit was not from legal means.

Instead of creating another "Global Giant", we should splitting up both these Co's into smaller divisions.
